Mr. & Mrs.

I've really been digging Mr. and Mrs. stuff lately. I have also been thinking mustache silhouettes are cute. (You can call me crazy.) So I thought I would combine two of my likes and make something Mr./Mrs..

Sounds goofy, which is perfect for us. So what did I make? A super cute (in my opinion, which matters most) wall art hanging. And of course it was cheap and easy to do. That should be the motto of this blog - cheap and easy. But I would probably get a lot of unwanted comments and visitors. I digress, sorry.

Anyways, the supplies for this project are two picture frames, ampersand symbol, hot glue, and some graphics printed on paper. I made my graphics by gluing the separate elements together. You probably are talented enough to make it all on the computer and not use glue.

Like I said, this is easy. Don't blink or you'll miss the steps. First I spray painted the two frames gray. Second, add the graphics to the frames and secure with hot glue. Finally, hang on the wall. Done.

Here is it all hung up and looking pretty:

I used a mustache for the Mr. and lips for me, the Mrs.. And I will tell you that we had a little mustache-fun and took a few silly photos with extra mustaches I had printed out. More on that later though.

I picked up the ampersand from Hobby Lobby when it was half off. It was a tarnished gold color, but I spray painted it yellow and like it much better now. Plus the yellow ties in with the yellow bedding. And it adds a little more color to the sitting area, which was desperately needed.

Total project costs:
Ampersand              $5.00 (1/2 off)
Frames                    $2.00
Spray paint              $0.00 - already owned
Paper & Graphics    $0.00
TOTAL                    $7.00

Bam! Love it! But, I must confess, I might take off the words and just have the mustache and lips. So that is my goofy take on Mr. & Mrs.

What projects have you been up to? Any Mr. / Mrs. projects in your future? Or have you already made some cute pillows or art?

How cute - especially the mustache and colors. Chevrons are such a hot decor trend.

super cute! I think I would leave just the mustaches though, that would be so cute!! What color spray paint did you use for your yellow?? I'm redoing our spare bedroom in black, gray & yellow and I've used sun yellow but I think yours looks more like mustard... LOVE it! Looks awesome!

OH and I looked all over Hob Lob's wood section for an ampersand last week for a project I'm doing, never thought to look in the home section. I'll be making a trip there asap!

Suzy - It is Krylon Bauhaus Gold from WM. It is more mustardy (if that is a word) than sun yellow.

Good luck!
